Effectiveness of WhatsApp in Delivering Livestock Advisory Services in Andhra Pradesh

In the present ICT era of communication, social media is playing a pivotal role in reducing communication gap and sharing information instantly anywhere world. Among various media, WhatsApp particularly helps formation common interest groups for different categories people information. The study was undertaken with this objective, to effectiveness communications on advisory services delivered livestock owners, Andhra Pradesh. A group named “PASU VIGNANA VEDIKA” created purpose, provide related farmers instantly. total 95 10 Veterinary Officers, using their smart phones were selected included PASU VEDIKA”. After 90 days period, results collected by personal interview method through structured schedule, analyzed presented frequencies percentages. majority had Favourable attitude (61.05%) towards farming opined that easy read (100%), listen (89%), timely availability (89.47%), out queries posted regarding health animals (54.17%) especially skin, mastitis digestive disorders. Further, most used text based messages (56.25%) followed photos (31.25%) ailing animals. view vast opportunities formation, government policies should be framed such way utilize full potential welfare community.
